For 40 days and 40 nights Crazybill and his Ark fought the rains. The deluge covered everything in water, the sky was not to be seen, the sun never shone but on the 40th day the Ark came to rest on a small island called Chokoloskee in the midst of a great swamp called the Everglades. There the sun shone and the sky was blue. The woman who inhabited the nether regions of the Ark emerged from her lair and her face broke into a smile. There is a line from an old Johnny Cash song that states " Women sometimes get that way ". When it is raining and they are cooped up in their lair they really get that way. In any event the face was all smiles and the head was full of plans to explore this new land. We started out with breakfast at a Cuban restaurant right across the street from the park called Carlos. For breakfast we had what for me was a new dish called Huevos Rancheros which, for want of a better description is western omelette scramble. It was very good and the atmosphere and service were first rate. Thus started Day 1 in Chokoloskee.
