Finally we have escaped the infernal rain that has plagued the Fort Myers area ever since we arrived. Our first stop on this trip was Auburn Alabama. It rained all the way there and all the while we were there. From there we went to Destin Florida where it rained virtually the entire time we were there. From there we went to Sarasota which was heaven on earth. No rain, sunny skies and good friends. From there we went to Fort Myers where it rained and rained and then rained some more. As evidence of the flooding taking place in the Fort Myers area I will post a couple of photos taken this morning as we left.
Water under the RV
Water in front of the RV
Water across the road
I'm amazed I made it out without being towed
As of now we are on Chokoloskee island which is close to Everglade City. The sun is shining, the temps are in the high 70's and gentle breezes are rustling the palm leaves. Things are looking good.
