A day spent with old friends

Yesterday we spent the day with old friends from Eagles Rest. Jerry and Linda moved in shortly after we did and soon became legendary for the banquets they put on at various get togethers and especially the annual Super Bowl Party they hosted. Jerry and Linda moved away and now live in Sun City Florida. Most of you are familiar with the Sun City concept but for the few of you that don't it goes like this. Sun City is the Mall concept of living in that it has everything under one roof. You can get into pottery, line dancing, wood working, computers, yoga and just about anything you could ever dream of. Everything is onsite. You can go to doctors, dentists, shop, eat and anything else your heart would desire and never leave the grounds. In short they got a real sweet set up here for the retiree. We had lunch at the activity center. I regret not taking a picture of my dish. I had the biggest, thickest Dagwood Reuben I ever saw. I bet it weighed 2 lbs and was a full 5 inches thick. After lunch we went to the Manatee viewing area set up by the local power company below the power plant. The Manatees gather there to bask in the warm water the power plant discharges back into the river after being used for cooling. I tried to get some pictures of the Manatees but the water was too murky and the angle of sun caused too many reflections. Photo below.

After that we went to a local strawberry farm and had strawberry shortcake for dessert. This I took a picture of. Photo below.

Strawberry shortcake with ice cream. Yum!
Jerry bought Linda a new car after they moved to Sun City. She wanted a BMW but Jerry said she was worth far more than a mere BMW and bought her a top of the line Lincoln Crossover SUV instead. Photos below.
