Greetings From Myrtle Beach

Greeting from sunny Myrtle Beach. Being as we had nothing going of for Thanksgiving back in Columbia we decided to visit Lakewood RV Park at Myrtle Beach. They are having a Thanksgiving dinner today at the entertainment center. They provide the turkey and fixings and everyone attending brings snacks, desserts, covered dish, etc. I took an interesting selection of photos yesterday. The trees in the park are awesome. They are very old live oaks which have those gnarly, crooked branches that defy gravity. Because of the wind they had a pretty good surf. I got some good shots of those as well. The sunset was gorgeous last night. I hope the photos show up. My reason for living is happy as well as we now have hot water and I finally got the tv in the bedroom hooked up to the dish so she can watch Dancing With The Stars while curled up in her little nest. There are a surprising number of people here in the park for a holiday this late in the year. As usual I have met some interesting people. One couple I met from Lenoir North Carolina just got back from a 12,000 mile round trip to Alaska. They fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams which is to travel the length of the Alcan Highway. The couple behind us are from Texas. They are full timers. They sold their house, got rid of all their furniture and personal possessions and live on the road full time. They say they love it but I'm not sure I could do that just yet. The weather has been great. Temps have been in the mid 70's Tuesday and Wednesday. Today they are forecasting mid 60's.
