Day 4 at Cardinal Ridge Farm

Another absolutely fabulous day. The rain cleared out, the sky turned a beautiful shade of blue and everything was clean and washed off by 3 days of rain. She Who Must Be Obeyed, was poking around on the internet and found a log cabin in the woods with an RV space already built in over by Murphy, NC. So, after even yet another world class breakfast provided by our gracious host, she decided we should make a search and destroy mission over to Murphy. A word of caution here about Cardinal Ridge Farm. They have some strange water up here that oozes up out of the ground without the aid of a pump. This water is good tasting but absolutely deadly in it's after effects. In 5 days I have gained 5 pounds drinking this stuff. I've sworn off and from here on out I'll stick to wine. Ok, on to the search and destroy. We drove through the most beautiful range of mountains you could ever imagine with the leaves at the absolute peak of their color. Even the Blue Ridge Parkway would be hard pressed to show such a display of leaves. My heart goes out to the less fortunate people back in Columbia that only get to see green pine needles year round. Ok, on to Murphy. Our faithful Garmin directed us right to our destination. At the last turn it informed us to turn left. It should have said turn up. The road was almost vertical for the first couple of hundred yards although it was blacktop. At the top of the hill was a sharp turn left where the road turned to gravel. After the next turn left the road turned to clay. After a bit it turned to mud. The last half mile was deep holes filled with water and mud in between. At last we reached our destination. 320 Notterly Rd. in all it's glory. Picture a log shack in the middle of a dense brushy forest surrounded by trailers and abandoned dump trucks. However the price was reduced. Being as it was my birthday today She Who Must Be Obeyed decided I deserved a nice lunch at Murphy's finest dining establishment. Her treat of course. After arriving back at Cardinal Ridge we sat in the Gazebo and sipped wine while watching the deer eat corn and the sunset. A fabulous day indeed. I feel so sorry for my current wife. Every Sunday she faithfully goes to the Catholic Church and prays to the Good Lord to turn me into the husband she truly deserves. Every week the Lord disappoints. As usual photos of the day are enclosed.
