Day 3 at Cardinal Ridge Farm

Day 3 at Cardinal Ridge started out with even yet another terrific gourmet breakfast prepared by our gracious hostess. After that it was all downhill. When I went to start the Mustang it was completely dead. Darn, where have I seen this movie before? Ken, the owner of Cardinal Ridge had a spare battery in his garage so we put a little charge on it and swapped batteries. The Mustang started right up so I thought I was out of the woods. About halfway to the automotive place I was headed for the car died in the middle of the road. It started raining. It started raining hard. I never knew how loud a heavy rain was inside of a convertible but I found out today. Eventually I got hold of a tow truck and had the car towed to a garage that worked it in. Both the alternator and the battery were shot and had to be replaced. By the time I got back to the RV park the better part of the day was shot. Ken and Kathy took us on a guided tour of the estate in their Bobcat ATV. The pictures I am posting were all taken from the ATV. This ATV is the ATV of all ATV's. 4 wheel drive, 4 passenger seating and a honking diesel engine. This thing could climb mountains and never miss a beat. Ken has cut trails all over the side of the mountain and cleared off small areas for tent campers. The views from some of these was spectacular. Once again our puny little pocket camera doesn't do justice to the grand vistas we saw. Hopefully tomorrow will go a little smoother. It seems every trip we have taken involves tow trucks and rain.
