Having graduated at the top of the sensitivity training course I took I am, naturally, loath to touch on subjects that might offend or hurt feelings. Having said that I feel compelled to touch on the weather in the Door County peninsula. While my less fortunate friends and neighbors back in sunny South Carolina were sweltering in temperatures approaching the high 90's with heat index readings over 100 we were enjoying bright sunny days with highs in the lower 70's and mornings with the lows in the high 50's. Basking in the cool air coming down from Canada the humidity was virtually non existent while, being on a peninsula, we enjoyed breezes coming from all directions. Visions of small cabins on the side of a lake in Northern Wisconsin surrounded by towering pines floated through my mind but every time I reached for a Homes&Land magazine " She Who Must Be Obeyed " slapped my hand. In my mind I could even hear the Whippoorwill's calling across the lake late at night. Alas, it's not to be. We stayed the week at a B&B called the White Lace Inn. I will show a couple of pictures we took of our room to give you and idea of our accommodations. One nice aspect of a Bed and Breakfast is the fact you meet different people over breakfast and share the previous days events and compare notes. We met some really nice people at the White Lace Inn unlike staying at motel which tends to be solitary experience.
