The Great Annual Florida Trip begins Day 1
Not much to report today. We made a little over 300 miles to our first stop which is Flamingo Lake RV Park. Flamingo Lake is a real nice park just north of Jacksonville so we stop here every year on our way south. It started raining just as we left Eagle's Rest and rained a little harder every mile of the way. By the time we crossed the Florida State line the visibility was down to one car length. Traffic was slowed to 35 mph and most cars had their emergency flashers going. We are all nice and settled in now and as I type this I am looking out over Flamingo Lake and thinking of my less fortunate friends up north suffering 46 degrees temps and rain to go with it. It is currently 64 degrees here albeit still raining. My reason for living turned all domestic once we got set up and fixed some nice shredded roast beef sandwiches with Hawaiian Mini Buns and Boars Head Deli Mustard accompanied by her own famous recipe potato salad. It is supposed to rain all night and clear up in the morning. I sure hope so.
