Weather

A lesser person than myself would fill his posts with comments about the weather back home in Columbia, South Carolina. But I wouldn't do that. A lesser person would comment on the huge wintry mix and ice storm about to bring the city to a grinding halt. But I wouldn't do that. A lesser person would comment on all his friends sitting around shivering in the cold as the power lines snap from the ice build up and the city goes dark. But I wouldn't do that. A lesser person would comment on the weather here in Key Largo, Florida but I wouldn't do that. A lesser person would comment on the fact that large brimmed hats and sweat bands are the order of the day down here. But I wouldn't do that. We arrived yesterday here in Key Largo to bright sunshine and temps in the mid 80's. It seems funny to be sweating in shorts and tank top while my friends up north are scraping ice and praying the power doesn't go off. In any event I took a couple of pictures of the park and the legendary Keys sunsets before we settled in for the evening. Photos below. I feel so good that I chose to take the high road and not mention the terrible weather conditions in Columbia.

  1. I would love to step into this photo. With the weather conditions and loss of Gretchen some sun, surf and palm trees would be a healing salve.
Hank has a good fire going, I have a pasta dish cooking for our dinner and the cats are staying hi and dry in the sunroom. The house is filled with purple orchids, hydrangea, waxflower and babies breath for the wedding this weekend. So far, so good. Another day closer to warmer temps. Hang in there and don't get lost!
