We have arrived here in Jacksonville Florida after finally managing to flee the bitter cold of Columbia South Carolina. I say finally because we were originally scheduled to leave January 3rd but my near death experience with a lodged gallstone killed the month of January. When we left it was cloudy, dreary, bleak and spitting rain. The temperature was 46 degrees but felt like 32. When I got out of the RV 5 hours later to check in it was 76 degrees, the sky was blue and there was a gentle breeze rustling the palm leaves. We are not used to blue sky in South Carolina and it took a little getting used to. I finally figure out that sun glasses were the ticket so I dug them out of storage and put them on. In Columbia the overcast is so low it feels like you could reach up and touch it. Here the blue sky stretches upward forever. I feel so sorry for my less fortunate friends and relatives up north still battling the elements. Still Life Is Good. We are headed for Port St. Lucie where it is going to be 82 degrees today. We had to turn the dash air on in the coach when we hit the Florida state line and ran the coach air in the evening. We dined outside last night, something we haven't done in quite awhile, while overlooking flamingo lakes and it's fountain. Pictures below.
