Fort Walton Beach At Last

Well, we have finally arrived in Fort Walton Beach where we can spend the next 2 weeks relaxing and winding down our winter vacation. I would like to take a moment here to reassure all our friends out there that the poster girl for the CAAW Organization
( committee to aid abused women ) has been saved from the imminent threat of of freezing to death. She is now safely ensconced in her little nest basking in thermostatically controlled luxury. After waking to a gorgeous, but cold, sunrise in Cedar Key we headed north to Tallahassee. Sunrise photo below. Tallahassee was just an overnight stop on the way to Fort Walton Beach but we did get to watch the Super Bowl there. This game was pure torture for me as I was rooting for the 49ers while the poster girl for the CAAW was rooting for the Ravens. I had to suffer through 2 quarters of her squeals and shrieks of delight while I watched the 49ers self destruct. I had no idea the Ravens were that good and if I were a betting man I would have lost my shirt. The area around Tallahassee is an area of rolling hills and trees and is quite attractive to drive through. We are now set up at the Destin West RV Park for the next 2 weeks. Photo of the view through the front windows below.
