Photos from Del Ray Beach Art Festival

We spent 3 the last three nights in Lantana Florida to visit with my oldest son, Mike. We had a good visit and while we were there we took in the Del Ray Beach Art Festival. It's sort of interesting to see the stratification of society in the Florida Atlantic coast. Jacksonville is a very middle class city. An art festival there would probably resemble what we would call a flea market back home. Melbourne Beach is a little more upscale and the gift shops there have a little more expensive artsy/craftsy merchandise. Del Ray Beach is definitely south Florida. The prices on some of these art objects is astounding. Painting in the high hundreds and low 1000's, and large foyer creations in the 2-3000 dollar range. I can't imagine having a $2500 art object sitting in the entry way to my house. It would appear that the sun and humidity of south Florida has a beneficial effect on one's skin. Most of the women here look much younger than same age women up north. No grey hair and the women are remarkably wrinkle free. The Gold market is doing well in south Florida as the women were all sporting lots of it. Even my untrained eye can pick out high end women's clothing and Del Ray Beach women were wearing them. Trust me girls high priced clothes are worth it. What I would call Pork Pie hats are in fashion down here. Over half the older women were wearing them. The big black sunglasses and the huge gold ear rings were quite striking. So much for rambling. Photos below.
