Folly Beach December 2012

We drove the RV to James Island Tuesday to see the James Island County Park Festival of Lights show. Tuesday was a drive day and set up camp day. Wednesday we drove to Folly Beach. Folly Beach may well be the last little village on the Atlantic coast that remains relatively unspoiled. No high rise condominiums, no massive influx of franchises such as Burger King, McDonald's, etc. Except for a good number of new beach houses built after Hurricane Hugo washed away the old ones Folly looks much like it might have 50 years ago. Newer is not always better. If I were to spend some time at the beach I would much prefer Folly Beach to Myrtle Beach. The only other place comparable to Folly would be Cedar Key on the Gulf coast of Florida.
