Day 9. We are winding down our little excursion to Alaska. Only 2 more days after this and it's back to hot, sweaty Columbia. Today was a travel day. We rode in a bus from Seward Alaska to McKinley Lodge which is just outside of Denali National Park. The bus trip was from 8 o'clock in the morning to 6 o'clock in the evening. We stopped a couple of places along the way to eat and rest and I got some decent pictures of Mt. McKinley. Trivia piece for the day. Mt. McKiley is the tallest mountain in the world. Mt. Everest is the highest mountain in the world. The difference is that Mt. Everest is only 12,000 feet high from base to it's top but it sits on a high plateau. Mt. McKinley is 14,000 feet high from base to the top. In any event it's a beautiful mountain and the whole mountain range is scenic beyond description. Tomorrow is a wilderness tour and Tuesday is the dinner train back to Anchorage. After that it's all over. As usual pictures enclosed.
