Day 5

Day 5. Day 5 we spent in Juneau Alaska. Juneau is the state capital of Alaska and has one interesting feature that is worthy of note. Juneau cannot be reached by road, rail or airport. The only way you can get to Juneau is by boat or seaplane. It's sort of like an island on land. I sometimes think Washington, DC should be put on an island somewhere but that is another whole subject. We didn't do much today other than the typical shopping excursion into the downtown area and a Salmon Bake in the evening. The Salmon Bake was nice. It was set at the foot of a mountain in a dense forest with a white water stream running along side it. The food was excellent and the setting was right out of a book. Tonight we set sail for Skagway where we will be taking a narrow gauge railroad to the top of a mountain. They say it's a fantastic trip. As usual photos enclosed below.
