Key Largo Update

Monday was a washout. It rained all day and all night. It didn't rain hard but it was on and off much like the rain in Ireland. It would pour down rain and 10 minutes later the sun would shine. In between rains we drove down to the local Wendy's to try out their highly advertised Blue Cheese and Bacon Burger. What a disappointment. It was dry, tasteless and in no way resembled a hamburger. 30 years ago Wendy's was famous for their Hot and Juicy burgers. Now they are dry and tasteless buffalo chips. I can't imagine how they could take something that used to be a real treat and turn it into cardboard with mustard and ketchup. Tuesday was a clean up day. I made a batch of beef stew in the crock pot, ran the sweeper and wet swiftered the floors. After 2 weeks of living in a motorhome it needed it. Tuesday evening a friend from way back in Mary's past stopped by for a visit. Lisa was a neighbor way back when Mary lived in Fort Lauderdale and her kids were little. They have stayed in touch all these years. Photo below.

We drove down to a place called Robbies which is sort of like a flea market with a Tarpon Feeding attraction. Picture below is of kids feeding the Tarpon.

On the way to Robbies we visited the Rain Barrel. In front of the Rain Barrel they have a giant lobster. I can't imagine how much this thing must have cost.

We finished off the day at the Pilot House which is locals type of restaurant. Back in Columbia it would be called a sports bar but the food was good. Picture is of blackened Hogfish.
