Ireland Day 9 Comments

Not much to comment on as I have pretty much covered everything about Ireland in previous posts and pictures of cliffs are pretty much self explanatory.. Tonight we are going to take in an Irish version of dinner theater. I'll be sure to bring my appetite and hope the show is good. We are about at the stage in a long holiday like this when one starts dreaming of a different life style. I can see a little whitewashed stone cottage sitting in a valley with a small stream running close by. The property would be outlined with stone fences and sheep would be grazing in the neighbors fields. The cottage would be close enough to a small village that one could walk to the local Pub. My day would start out by waking up to the fragrant aromas wafting in from the kitchen from me wife preparing a full Irish breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon and hash brown potatoes. After breakfast I would walk to the local Pub and spend the day reading the paper, playing checkers and downing pints of Guinness. By 4 o'clock I would be home for afternoon tea. During the day me wife would have been busy baking scones and Irish brown bread for the afternoon tea. After tea a little stroll down to the Pub for a few more pints and maybe talk a little treason and other such political stuff. In the evening I would sit in my rocker in front of the fireplace and smoke my long stemmed pipe. I could really get into Irish village life. No snow, no ice, no hot weather and a good woman to keep it all neat and tidy. What more could a man ask? Ah to dream, perchance to dream.
