Benningrath Gardens Mobile, Alabama

After leaving Fort Walton Beach we decided to take the scenic route home and pay a visit to Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile Alabama. Good stop. We spent half a day at the gardens and took lots of good photos. Bellingrath Gardens is a private house and gardens donated to the State by the Bellingrath family. The Bellingrath family was unable to produce any children and had no other relatives so they donated their home and land to the State as a museum of sorts. The Bellingrath fortune stemmed from Coca Cola. Mr. Bellingrath who was one of the top 10 executives of the Coca Cola company and had the Coca Cola bottling plant for all of Mobile Alabama. We took some good photos which our cheap ass camera won't do justice to but I will enclose them anyway. Tomorrow morning we point the big bus home.

  1. Love the photos! Bloomers are hibiscus & large green plant looks like a Cycad. Looks like you had great weather for a garden visit. Jealous!
