The day before

Well, the long awaited day is finally just about here. As close as I can tell we have covered all the bases. The luggage is packed with all the wrong clothes and we have needlessly burdened down ourselves and the airlines with stuff we will never use. I'm guessing we will be virtually out of touch for the next couple of weeks. They have internet service on the cruise ships but it is $3.95 to logon and 75 cents a minute thereafter. I don't think I'll be doing any surfing of the net. My hope is to compose my comments offline and then upload a few pictures and the comments to the blog which should hold the cost down to around $5.00. I hope that works out. I will do my best to keep you updated and try to take some decent pictures to send back. Tomorrow is a flying day which will pretty much take care of the whole day and by the time we get checked into the hotel the day will be shot. The next day will be shot getting on board the cruise ship which doesn't leave until 5:00 in the afternoon. Monday should be the beginning of the fun. I've looked forward to this cruise ship for many years so I hope it lives up to it's billing.

  1. Hi Bill and Mary,
Hope travel and boarding went smoothly. Enjoy the next few days. Don't worry about anything back in SC. Whatever catastrophe happens weather-wise or other-wise you can deal with it when you return home. Don't even spend time glancing at the SC news, etc. For the moment, there is no report of Nikki traveling the Yukon trail. Sarah is busy traveling other trails in the great states but not in Alaska. Hurry up and enjoy each venues as global warming is melting things quickly. I have heard the Yukon barley blueberry pancakes are hearty and filling. Try 'em and let us know. Happy Trails! Debby
